McCall Farms is committed to the community in which it resides. Located in the small town of Effingham, SC, McCall Farms donates canned and frozen food to local food banks in the Pee Dee, Midlands and Coastal Regions of South Carolina each and every year. In 2015, we donated over 100,000 pounds of food to over 20 different food banks and other non-profit organizations within a 120 mile radius of our production facilities.
For the past three years, McCall Farms has been a proud supporter of SC ETV’s Making It Grow. Making it Grow is a call-in gardening and agricultural show which airs live on ETV every Tuesday night at 7:00PM. The program is hosted by Amanda McNulty from Clemson Extension, and is joined by various guests who discuss a variety of gardening topics and interesting places to visit throughout South Carolina.
Recently, Making It Grow produced a short video showing the harvesting and canning of Peanut Patch boiled peanuts, which are pulled green from the ground and canned several hours later. The video was narrated by Henry Swink, co-owner of McCall Farms. Click here to view the video.
McCall Farms supports the local community by participating in many events each year. We donate to and sample products at a variety of events hosted by non-profit organizations, such as the Boys & Girls Club. In addition, we participate in local festivals, golf tournaments and expos.
